The Dues and Membership Committee was confirmed under the leadership of Charles Paulk of Florida by action of NaCCRA's Board during its December 2, 2015 Teleconference. The members of the Committee, in addition to Mr. Paulk, are Frank Little of Washington State, Jack Snader of Illinois, Bob Negele of Connecticut and Jack Cumming of California.
The Committee was formed in response to confusion and contention about the dues and membership structure of NaCCRA and the members were chosen both for their business understanding and ability and because of the diverse state interests they represent.
Those interests include:
-
Washington State is the only state organization operating as a chapter within NaCCRA, i.e. it's organization is an intrinsic part of NaCCRA and all members are NaCCRA members; there is no separate state membership, with all NaCCRA members in the State of Washington considered to be members of NaCCRA Washington.
-
Connecticut's state organization, ConnCCRA, has no individual members. Instead, the Resident Associations in the state make a small payment toward the ConnCCRA organization.
-
Florida's FliCRA resident organization has by far the most numerous membership in the nation and has the strongest record of legislative achievement to its credit.
-
Illinois started as a NaCCRA chapter but reversed course after learning that most state organizations were separate from NaCCRA, and Illinois now has a separate organization apart from NaCCRA.
-
California's CALCRA, the resident organization most visible in the state, has elected to have nothing to do with NaCCRA.
Thus, it's evident that a variety of views are brought together within the Dues and Membership Committee with the hope that unity can emerge from diversity
